Check out…

The bike – Scott Octane MBR test bike with press preview 9 speed LX transmission! I borrowed it because a certain magazine editor had about 12 of them in his front room and was sick of tripping over it. I could keep it until Scott asked for it back, they never did. It finally died as a result of a bearing collapse whilst riding in The Lakes on my stag do 9 years later! Great bike. I miss it.

The shoes – Spesh Rockhoppers with orange laces

The clothes, gloves and helmet – Shakes head. A grown man dressed in day-glow colours. 🙄

The shades – Green and gold Oakley Eye Jackets IIRC

The evidence of hair – Long since gone

The “hysterical” sign post – Now replaced with a “Welcome to Bolton” one.

Anyone else got some retro photos?

Is that a bum-bag or a spinal injury?

my other half raced one of those scotts around 95/96 time (while I raced an LTS1!!), did quite well on the national xc rankings reaching eighth in the UK for sport women.

When we sold it though we realised that during 2 years of racing (winter series too) the rear shock hadnt moved more than 2mm because she wasnt heavy enough to move it...

Need to start scanning some of those pics...

Spring Polaris 1994 Lake District - me on the right, Andy Holmes on the left - racefaceec90 stylee glove and a MET helmet with the polycarb shell that was taped on to the polystyrene otherwise quite tame for that era Andy is now something important at Felt Cycles (or that's what he tell me!!).

Oh aye - kit:
Ally frame from US, snowflake front wheel, Mavics, Joe Murry cages with double straps, stylish Ron Hills in fetching blue! Pink Onza bar ends - eek - still have and use most of that stuff!! 😯
