Change the USB cable you're using. I had the same issue, swapped the USB cable for a good quality one and was done in about 15 minutes. Including installing XBMC etc...

This is cos im on 4.1.1 so its, ipsw this, mix with that, ssh this, putty that...
Then i had a reboot loop, only just sorted that
