Staying in that London and in a lot of the Asian run shops round here I see small bottles of JD that are shaped like your traditional cheap scotch half bottle. Are these legit, or dodgy? I thought JD only came in square section bottles

Makers Mark, Buffalo Trace, Knob Creek, lost of much better bourbons out there.
Once you go Knob you'll never go Jack!

I'd argue that Buffalo Trace is better than Jack. No denying it is a fine Whiskey but I think that Jack has the edge.

reminds me of when in west africa. They used to make the most fantastic, crunchy, tasty roasted peanuts (roasted in sand and then cleaned) and they would be stored in washed out J&B bottles. Id willingly send a bottle of scotch to Togo for a bottle of those nuts again ๐Ÿ™

I've never seen it (regular Jack) in anything other than square bottles, it's part of the brand.

As others have said though, it wouldn't be my first choice.

I've bought a 50cl bottle of JD on a flight in a plastic bottle of the shape you describe. However, this was likely down more to weight and packaging volume than anything.

You are, of course, wrong; but thanks for your contribution.
