I like the ad this year (and I'm not just saying that because I'm a Partner), it's a much less sales driven message and for once there's not a whole load of gubbins for sale associated with the ad, just a few related products with profits going to the charities.

Yay, a lavishly expensive 2 minute film to usher in the annual orgy of gluttonous consumerism.

Spend, spend, spend mother ****ers, it's Christmas time!

Looks like I'll have to bury my head in sand this year, instead of buggering off to Morocco.

What is the point of unplugging your chargers and not leaving anything on standby, doing your bit to save energy and the environment when soppy bollox muppets put their decorations up and cover their garden in fairy lights in the first week of November. I'm no scrooge but some people are taking the proverbial.

https://www.xmasclock.com/

No need to watch any Christmas adverts.

I hear there's a discount this year for new members to the I hate Slade club.

A few of our neighbours have done simple lights in their gardens this last week - mostly lit their deciduous trees & bushes. TBH I quite like it - we are in what will likely be a 6 month semi lockdown, its cold, windy and miserable outside so adding a bit of happiness to the street is to be welcomed

We will probably look to follow suite this weekend too.

It seems that COVID has created all these local groups on WhatsApp etc, and our road's group has now come up with the idea of everyone singing Christmas carols in the street in a couple of weeks time. I personally hate singing, mainly because I have one of the worst singing voices known to mankind, and also I'm not a believer in God, or any other deity, and as I don't have kids the whole issue around Santa is irrelevant to me. I'm wondering how I can avoid this beacon of community cheer without being pilloried as some unsociable miserable git - during the Thursday clap for the NHS in the first lockdown there was lots of muttering about the few neighbours who didn't join in, despite at least one set of these neighbours being NHS workers who were asleep due to their shift patterns.

Give me some excuses to avoid this community tyranny!

Got so far last year... then got hit (a low blow) by the local alternative station that used it as backing music for a piss-take ๐Ÿ™

Re. The OP, itโ€™s no 2011 vintage.

Re. The community sing song, if you really are that bad, and really have as much disdain for your neighbours as it seems, Iโ€™d be sorely tempted to buy a megaphone for the occasion.
