The NHS provide you with boots? We have to buy our own (police), poor relations? Anyway Altbergs are far superior to Magnums.
Legal requirement to provide adequate footwear. Altbergs are but only staff that sit with their feet up are allowed those, probably why they last longer.

Ooof! 😛
'Perforated Desert Boots'?
Doesn't the sand get in through the holes?
Teva sandals unless I'm at work and then its toe tectors

Aah the sands of Cheam Village.
Palms trees swaying in the breeze, the distant low of a camel, the birds flocking to the oasis, the gritty stern jaws of passing legionnaires.
Sand influx through our perforations is a fair swap to live in such a paradise.
Grass stains & slug-mush
Oh I didn't mean the Police Thorpie. 😳
Keen Sandals, cant remember the specific style but pretty sturdy and good for a bit of clambering about on pretty much any surface.
Today I'm mainly barefoot, trying to toughen up my man feet. Yesterday I disgraced myself by being forced to mince in pain on the shingle beach where once upon a time I could walk with impunity.
^
Do you have a teenage daughter or two that you plan on traumatising by standing alongside?
I had hitherto thought crocs were the only footwear with an instant shamectomy .
They tick both my boxes.
Stylish and practical.
What STW has on it's feet never fails to surprise me.

I'm seriously thinking about SPD sandals. I can't even bring myself to wear sandals off the bike, never mind on it, but I get such nasty hotfoot on long summer rides I'll try anything now. I'll just ride in the dark so no one sees me.
oxfords now, 5.10 Dirtbags later, then nothing.
I have two pairs of the merrel shoes posted above (the normal shoes, freewheel low I think). One in black and one in brown. Worn almost year around at work unless I'm in a suit
I wear trainers when I'm not at work.
This rarely changes between the seasons. As blokes we have less choice, I agree, but the upside is that we have less choice and therefore its much quicker! Plus we can wee standing up, which wins every time!
Palladium Pampa of some sort more often than not. If you shop around you can get the low canvas ones for about £30 or so. I find the fit as well as durability is much better than Converse and I quite like the rugged look, too.
Luckily in my job ( It's my shop anyway) I can wear what I want. T shirt, flip flops and shorts.
If it's hot and I have to dress like a normal person I can just feel my body suffocating.
There's no way on earth I could wear an enclosed pair of man made shoes even in winter.
I pity members of the brotherhood who have to dress smart. We even have one rep who asks us if he can take his jacket off.
We tell him to turn up in shorts if he wants but his suit is a prison that he is afraid to escape from.
FFS Zippy at least take the socks off 😆
Hot? I should have worn a fleece under my waterproof the other day, and I really could have done with gloves on as well!
It was sodding cold on Monday, standing around outdoors at 7am, I was chilled through.
Etnies Scout, look like a skate shoe, but the upper is all mesh so breathe really well.
Best summer shoes ever made. Wear them to the beach, get them wet, dry in minutes, go for a run, wear them kayaking, wear them anywhere!

Those brewers look good . Can you see through the mesh on the top?
Sand,..what do i win?
Some Merrel cycling shoes
Those look almost exactly what I'm after as a pair of shoes. If only they didn't have that white band around the bottom which appears to be de rigeur for any shoe with a flat sole suitable for riding in. WTF can't they make that bit to match on shoes like that with a semi-smart upper?
Same gutties and socks i wear all year round, salomon escape and some walking socks that are a reasonable thickness(thin or no socks utterly destroy my feet regardless of conditions). My feet don't seem to change temperature or sweat when it gets hot, more important to change from trousers to shorts imo, let the air about your legs!
Comfy mccomfyerson, as you can tell i don't particularly follow fashions! I've a smart pair of shoes i keep in work and change in the office, otherwise the above do me for more or less everything else(some exception obviously), i wear them till they fall of my feet and then buy another pair, 70 quid for goretex lined will do for me! 🙂
Zippy, I may have to pay you an extra performance related bonus.
I wear these Keen sandals summer and winter.
