We do this every year. Anything new?
If they are smart enough to go out in and wear socks with even better.

Desert boots. Same as every other day of the year when work won't let me wear flip flops 🙂

Why is it my female colleague is allowed to wear fancy sandals with her trousers and shirt, but I am not allowed to wear flip flops with mine?

Once again it's one rule for petite women with visually inoffensive and unhairy feet, and another for the rest of us...

Nothing, though I'll have to put flip-flops on soon or I'll burn my feet.

Nothing - the biggest joy of spring through early autumn, barefoot apart from work!

Sandals. Proper ones, not daft flop flaps. Swarf in the workshop is a bit of a problem...

We had this at work where you were allowed an open toed show but not sandals
I spent at least two hours in a union meeting asking for examples of male version that would be allowed - none was forthcoming

It does genuinely annoy me that in summer women can wear weather appropriate clothes where as we have to dress exactly the same as any other day of the year

We did once wear sarongs to make a point about not being allowed shorts....probably not the best idea given your job 😉

I've always worn desert boots and I've now got perforated ones. They are excellent.[img] [/img]
I'm experimenting with something and will do some pics later.

Yes, I'm not sure I would get away with a sarong.

Clark's Desert Wellies
Sebago Docksides
Reef Phantoms

Tend to pretty much live in the latter over summer. WFH means office attire is a little easier going!

I've just invented these.
Almost as comfy as socks and sandals but it looks like you're wearing proper shoes.
Will tidy up the edges when I get home.

Nike tennis flyknits. I despise 'trainers' but these have minimal branding and a plain white sole.
If it's not too hot then still wear oxford brogues or a posh pair of loafers if I have to dress to impress.

Daps - shorter socks in summer with shorts.

I cannot stand flip-flops, they fail as footwear, why do I have to spend the summer waiting for Mrs Jay or Master Jay to catch up with me, moan they're rubbing or cry because they've got stone number 74 under their foot on a 500m walk.

Boots in winter.

Its freezing today, well 10 degrees colder than yesterday, strong wind and no sun. Yesterday it was Kevas - its fair to say Mrs B is not a fan. I wear those Brazillian flip flops on holiday to avoid compaints and for an easy life

Boat shoes are for wearing on boats btw 😉

Not even if you wear it with a sporran?

Black DC trainers. Unless smartness is compulsory, then it's (black) sandals (and a very sulky face).

They can't be cool in this weather.
I spunked £70 on these https://www.shoeembassy.com/man/django-deep-navy last week and they are too hot for me.

Standard issue yup. Absolutely fine though.

They can't be cool in this weather.

NHS can't afford much else.

Part of our uniform. Deck shoes aren't very good at resisting vomit.

The NHS provide you with boots? We have to buy our own (police), poor relations? Anyway Altbergs are far superior to Magnums.

Whatever I choose to wear - first rule is "not what was worn the day before".
Today will be Bont's this morning (sun) and Diemme boots this afternoon (rain).
Tomorrow morning will be Northwave GTX boots in the morning and probably New Balance retro in the afternoon.
