It seems Australia ...

[Closed] It seems Australia might actually be quite good at cricket.

Puts a bit of a different perspective on the Ashes series we just lost eh?

It shows that Lehman has been able to motivate and improve an average group with a couple of outstanding talents into something robust and competitive. We are a long way off this position regardless of the pietersen smokescreen.

I watched Clarke's century in the 3rd test and it's one of the best I've ever seen.

The saffers will be furious!

Maybe, but for me, the manner of defeat matters. The Saffers put up a fight and we didn't...

True - although they were at home (and we won our home series against Australia, albeit not that convincingly). It's just that everyone was saying we lost to a terrible team last time.

Yup.

They were terrible - we managed to win convincingly without getting out of third gear. It's amazing how quickly they turned it around.

Lehman has done an outstanding job with that group of players. From a shambolic outfit last summer to one of the best seasons for a while in next to no time. Shows the value of confidence, too.

Doesn't put any gloss on England's performance, sadly.

No Jacques Kallis, no Mark Boucher and a fading Graeme Smith. This is not the same South African team that England played in 2012. The aussies didn't look that good in England last summer and they won't come the next ashes.
