Evening all. I know there are quite a few IT people here and I have a problem with my email. I can recieve emails fine but I can't send any and I get the following message:

An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'Re: GT Mini race bike', Account: 'pop.ntlworld.com', Server: 'smtp.ntlworld.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '421 Cannot establish SSL with SMTP server 81.103.221.11:465, SSL_connect error 10054', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 421, Error Number: 0x800CCC67

I have no idea what this means?

I thought I would ask on here to see if it's an easy fix.

Thanks

maybe an error with ntl smtp server, change your smtp server to something else
looks like your trying to use ssl, try turning that off

something might be using your ssl port?

or your client has issues..

what email client are you using?

I have had the same problem today and with some looking have changed the smtp server from ntlworld to virginmedia.com and it now seems to work. Presumably someone in VM has been playing again.
My comment is simple:
Wouldn't it be nice if we were told if anything had been altered

It would have saved me three hours of searching for the answer and thank you for confirming what I had done is correct. How long until some geek changes somehing again without telling the customer!!!!!!

Any help?

hopefully the quick fix would be to change to the virginmedia.com server.
