Cursor jumping all over the place in Yahoo Mail and word driving me mad is there an easy fix

is it a laptop and do you perhaps have a trackpad and a mouse? Trackpads sometimes react to your hands being near
or the fun one I had yesterday like this where it turned out that the mouse was part of a wireless mouse/keyboard pair and the keyboard was in another room with a pile of books on top of it 🙂
