Boss has asked me to swap the computers in the shop today. All the files etc are on an external hard drive ready but I have no idea how to move the email details and Outlook setting across.
Any help would be top.
Look in Tools > Account Settings for your current account settings - make a note of these and put them in to Outlook on the new machine.
Do you need to move the current emails too? Are they stored on the computer itself? If so, google around .pst files.
I'm assuming you've got a pop account or similar and download from there to outlook.
Cool, will give it a go. Yes, the emails are on the computer, I've got this external hard drive so can I stick them on there?
Yeah, your emails will all be stored in a .pst file. The basic principal is you find it, copy it to the new computer (via the external drive) and then add it back in to Outlook.
From the last time I did it (a few years and versions of outlook ago, admittedly) it wasn't the most straightforward process.
