Yes, it returns results, but it mostly appears to be random stuff - pages of it...

Or is it just me? Keyword = zone

It's never worked in the sense of how you think a search would work.

It's always a random list of results, completely unrelated to the search term or word you entered.

If you want actualy results then just use google as above.

The forum in general seems broken for me (log ins, not showing updated threads) But yeh the search does that for me too

I'd actually prefer it if the search bar was removed if it's not going to be fixed.  It just sits there taunting you with its pretence of functionality. Every now and then I give it a try in the vain hope that it's been fixed.  Inevitably I get less relevant results than if I'd used a random word generator!

When we describe it, it sounds charmingly eccentric like something from Douglas Adams.

But it's just terrible really.

It was actually working for a while. We also had two Search bars for a while - one was just a Google search.

Aye the search doesn't work properly.
I keep getting logged out, get adverts all over the place, sometimes the forum text is in bold font, sometimes the forum is pushed over to the left hand side say 25% of the screen.
All for a yearly subscription fee.

The search function will be fixed ASAP? I will be impressed if that happens after years of it being a chocolate teapot.  Watching with interest!

I wasn't aware it had ever really worked.

Love the ambition though, best of luck.

Aw, lookit his little optimistic face. 😁

Anthony, if you can indeed get it "fixed ASAP" in so far as it actually returns useful results on a reliable basis then you will be hailed as a champion among men.

That's one hell of an early April the 1st... the feature I love about the search, when it 'works', is that it supplies thread from 10 years ago.. so darn helpful

There was a few days about a month ago? When they said it was using some kind of Google Search functionengine or something. It worked really well! I searched for forum stuff and got results. But I was searching for a thread I knew existed yesterday and the first time it just brought up every forum post with a letter in it, so I put quotes round me search and then the results all came from every STW page except the forum! And it was the search bar on the forum page, not the magnifying glass up the top there. Gawd nose what that one does.

Ive never found the STW search to be worth the frustration of using.

site:singletrackworld.com

I've seen this a few times, what does this do that just typing singletrackworld after your search text in google doesnt?

I know this isn't really that different but fewer keystrokes more time to {insert activity}. I ways just type my search then add singletrackworld after and it works.

It restricts your search to results from that site rather than containing the word singletrackworld
