It''s definitely ok to punch someone who is not a clown, but who is dressing up as one to scare kids, in the face, I'd say.

Clowns are evil and deserve what they get.

I just read some good advice on another thread: if attacked by a gang of clowns, go for the juggler....

Haven't you got to spray it in the face with your inhaler or something?

Its actually getting quite real up here (Northumberland). Local high school has been in 'lockdown' for 2 days, no-one allowed in or out during the day due to "clowns in the vicinity". Passed yesterday and high police presence !

Its a massive overreaction to a couple of kids getting spooked.

There were a whole load of clowns seen in Birmingham the other day, saying scary things, frightening people, and being generally creepy and nasty. I hope the authorities deal with them severely.

You aware some kids are terrified cos of these pricks, or are you just doing the 'this is what I'm supposed to do on stw' thing, with your little selective editing?

Don't know what to think about this...whilst I find the YouTube clips above pretty entertaining, if someone scared my under 10s in a similar way, I think the red mist would descend pretty rapidly....

There are two kinds of people in this world:

1 - Those who find clowns weird and creepy
2 - Clowns

No ******* excuse whatsoever for someone to go around terrorising children or any stranger for their own selfish self absorbed amusement.

Want to dress up in creepy outfits and be scary then play pranks on your mates while you still have them or go to a specialist party but leave people you don't know out of it.

In all seriousness if some idiot dressed as a clown jumped out on me I would beat the ever loving shit out of them on principal. What kind of idiot does this to an adult let alone a child? The only thing worse than a clown is a mime artist, the stealth assassin of the clown family.

An assault is committed when a person intentionally or recklessly causes another to apprehend the immediate infliction of unlawful force.

Above courtesy of cps website.

As I read that if the person on the receiving end of the [s]joke[/s] selfish **** behaviour feels they are at risk of imminent physical attack then chances are it's technically Common Assault. I certainly wouldn't think that acceptable behaviour but maybe I'm old fashioned.

I have worked for/reported to clowns who I would have assaulted for fun because they were fing arses - but didn't because I had wife, children & mortgage so needed to work.
Individuals like them - smiling borderline psychopaths - have pretty much disappeared from the world of work so today's 20/30/40 somethings........you think your working life is tough?
A comment I've never forgotten; new director in plc so not his company, first meeting - 'ah, you're an unnecessary overhead in my business'.
That comment typified the poisoned relationship we had.
More than 20 years ago but I hope you contracted a slow, debilitating and ultimately terminal illness Doug.

And another one....ex and I converting farm outbuildings into house; wettest winter for 20 years; mobile phone bricks with variable signal.
Ring work early morning to advise will not be in today; 'boss' sends out message by motorbike courier; message is on subject previously discussed to death and resolved.....
Fing d**k; RIP - as he's now dead but nothing to do with me.

Always good to vent............. ๐Ÿ˜†

No, I'm just wondering how you differentiate between clowns and people dressing up as clowns. What with clowns just being people dressing up as clowns, basically. Still, if you want to get all aggressive about my comment that's fine. Perhaps you should go out and punch someone, work it off a bit ๐Ÿ˜†

I did laugh at some police reports which emphasised that they weren't real clowns ๐Ÿ˜€

Anyhow, there's been some studies of this and the general opinion is that it's mostly mass hysteria, stoked by the occasional kid messing about.

Get a grip.

No one is really scared of clowns.
It's just something boring people say to appear interesting, the male equivalent of women who insist they find feet ugly.

I'll give it a day or two before the papers are reporting someone dressed as a clown gets the living *ing * kicked out of them.

I doubt it'll elicit much sympathy

I strongly suspect it's stealth marketing for the "IT" remake. It's interesting the way it's spread on social media as a meme if you like but other than that **** off with your "scary clowns".

I first saw it reported in the States about a month ago - fairly slow burn if its a marketing thing.

Principal photography is finished on the film and that's a long time for post production. They could move it forward. I don't think it was the spark for this meme but someone is adding fuel to it, so to speak.

clowns aren't scary. Horror clowns such as

[img] [/img]

jumping out on you in the night with a baseball bat might not appear so benign. I can well imagine before long one jumping out on someone in a car brandishing a weapon and getting run over, or a chuffing good kicking.

Killer Clowns From Outer Space.

One of the most anticipated, but ultimately disappointing horror films of my teenage years.

Actually brandishing weapons at people is bang out of order. But all said and done it's a once rare and funny thing suddenly trending and will be gone by november.

And yeah, if they keep doing it in the US, someone's gonna get shot.

Be careful, you might end up in a fight with one of the STW hard men.

There's two groups of clowns outside my house carrying pies.

I think there's going to be a custardy battle.
