It is not just you, I can't stand him. Another one on the ever growing list of reasons not to turn the TV on.

No!, He is just not funny. His delivery is very good and well practiced, as though the things he is saying are well thought out gags, but there is just nothing there!

What other comedians do you like then kev? and who is 'popular' that you just don't understand why?

Mother in Law thinks he's hilarious and insists it it put on - I think this is to just wind me up.

I hate his voice and his stupid face and hair

I'd prefer to have root canal treatment than listen to him.

why are you bothered about what I think? The guy is quite funny. He's no Peter Cook, or Bill Hicks, but he's having a laugh.

I think he is great. I think its a very contrived style, but it works for me.

I'm only trying to get a sense of the your kind of humour, you seem to be a touch put out by this. No ffence was intended. I was looking for a sort of 'if you like ....then you'll like Michael Macintyre' type thing.

or maybe, a 'I don't like all this ... stye of comedy, i prefer the .... comedy of Michael McIntyre'

If he would just quit the shouting he would be much funnier.

I don't find him funny so I don't watch him.

Having had root canal treatment, I can tell you I'd rather listen to Michael McIntyre than have it again.

Just had some done, would have it again rather than endure him in anyway.

He also drives an X5....

Stewart Lee described him as 'spoonfeeding his audience warm diarrhea' - i would agree with Mr Lees assessment

Don't find him funny at all.

That sex is on fire gag I thought was something school kids would come up with.

Shouts too much and can't keep his bloody head still. Some of his guests are superb though

Thinking about it further. I'd sooner perform root canal treatment on myself with a hammer drill than listen to him.

I really like him.
Don't like the comedy roadshow though as he seems to have a lot of people on that I just don't find funny!

I like him too. I know he's not popular with other comedians and I also know it's terribly uncool to like him. But I think he's funny. What can you do?

He cracks me up, I reckon he's brilliant, specially with his squeaky voice and floppy hair. Both him and Piers Morgan were on the telly last night.....made my evening it did.

used to find him hilarious, but now think he's shit
it's all a bit 70s/ Butlins/ top of the Blackpool Tower/ Jim Davidson nostalgia that Peter Kay bought and flogged to the nation 'til their eyes bled
prefer my comedy a bit more subversive, dark or profane 😀

Detest him, unfunny and to manicured. Lee Evans on the other hand is the funniest bloke I've ever seen, has me in stitches.

+ 1 Blakes - he's doing the middle of the road 'have you ever noticed... funny because its true' style comedy Peter Kay does (did). His talent is in the delivery because the material isn't particularly rich or clever. Last night Miles Jupp made the observation that many Irish comics don't need to write good material because they have an advantage with delivery because of their accents. The same could be said for Kay and McIntyre, and if you ever watch a repeat the lack of depth to the material is obvious.

Personally i prefer political and surrealist comedy. Unfortunately most comedy on the TV is mundane tripe - e.g. those panel shows with pre-reheased jokes.

I thought he was quite funny when he was first being broadcast, now his voice is really beginning to grate. It's a shame really, the same happened to Peter Kay, every time you turned the TV on he just seemed to be on.

Humour's a funny thing isn't it? I quite like Michael MacIntyre but can't stand Lee Evans. I mean does the world really need another Norman Wisdom?

Too ****ing right it does.

In fact, that's half the problem I reckon.........who can deny that Britain wasn't a better place in those halcyon days when Mr Pitkin entertained us with his hilarious adventures ?

I saw him a couple of times in a small comedy club and he was excellent. Still like him now as well, but, hey, he's gone mainstream. Wouldn't you?

+1 bakes & CaptJon.

"Comedy is the new rock 'n' roll" is very true. Stand-up comics capable of filling a stadium are about as attractive as U2 or Coldplay. It's anodine mediocrity for the masses who don't do thinking for themselves. Which is why it, like Glastonbury, is so heavily plugged by the marketing people in the media.
