Got a VGA adaptor off eBay, but it doesn't seem to work....l
Is there something I need to do to the iPad to make it work??? I hope I'm not being daft, but it seems all I can do is plug it into the pad, plug a VGA cable in, and plug that into a monitor!
Any tips would be appreciated, otherwise it's refund time.....

What are you trying to achieve?
If you're using an iPad1 the app you are using will require a video out mode. If you're using an iPad 2/3 you should just plug and play and be able to mirror the desktop.. If you have an Apple TV you can mirror the display without a cable. Some apps, such as Sky Go, have mirroring disabled.
if on a tv select the source function to vga pc or comp 😉
iPad 2, which I know should just plug in and mirror, which is why I suspect it's duff.....
