Well strictly speaking it is FBG's iPad - a 2018 10.5" iPad Pro. It works for a random amount of time (usually a good few hours) and then just reboots and then gets stuck on the Apple symbol.
I have followed all the suggestions on line and a complete restore with iTunes usually buys me a day or two of functionality before it regresses back to this irritating behaviour.
It does not seem to be the battery as, when it decides to work, it will happily plough through a good couple of days with battery to spare however I cannot think of anything else to try. Has anyone got any cunning suggestions?
Do you reinstall OS over the top (preserve data) or do a full nuke that removes data too?
@scuttler - full nuke + auto upgrade to latest version of iPadOS (15.1).
Having been looping for around 3 hours it’s come back to life but will likely start looping again in the next 1-10 hours. It’s that unpredictable.
Full reinstall makes it sound like a hardware problem - Go and see a 'Genius' as I believe they can run hardware diagnostics.
I had the same problem with my first Pro 2 years ago. Apple couldn’t resolve it over the phone so took it a store where they diagnosed a faulty battery.
