[Closed] iOS 15

I’ve just upgraded and found the same thing…fortunately there’s a button in the settings to revert back to normal.

Apparently the new tab thing at the top of the screen was too much to ask for

if you check in 'settings - safari - tabs' you change it back to a single tab at the top. I've done that just to make better use of screen space.

You can turn it off from safari itself. In the nab bar, tap “aA”, it is one of the options there.

I have turned it off. Annoyed me that the search results are still shown with the first at the top of the screen. If the aim is you don’t have to reach up, it fails for that reason.

I’m quite liking the address bar at the bottom, but the revised tabs seems to make very little sense. Why take something that was compact and useful and split it out over such a wide area? I see you can now group tabs, but that’s not too much use for me personally

Ooooh - there’s a “desktop website” button in the Aa bit too.
I wonder if that sorts the issue where someone’s website isn’t iPhone compatible?

I'm interested in the new 2FA functionality in Keychain. Has anyone set it up? Is it straightforward? In a situation where you already enabled 2FA do you just turn it off and start again?

Yeah, just setup 2fa again. The old codes won't be valid anymore.

I suspect I'll keep using the MS Authenticator app as it integrates with the MS auth flow so you get a notification instead of needing to enter a code.

So far my killer feature is being able to let Blink send me notifications (for example, your garage is being broken into) at 3am when Do Not Disturb is on.

Actually just set up a 2FA account in Passwords. I take it back, as they go on the cloud keyring I get to set it up on my phone and then it autocompletes on my laptop (with touchid).

Updated mine last night, and now this place is a Christmas Tree of adverts 🙄

Updated last night. Seems good, like the Safari improvements.
There are now notifications when you leave home without something an AirTag is attached to (wallet for example) which is pretty cool.
Focus mode would have been really good when I used to use Zwift on my iPad! Will have a proper play around with it later.

Tags for notes will be handy. It continues it trend of ios making 3rd party apps less and less appealing as their functionality is incorporated into IOS.

Copy and paste text from an image or live in camera is neat, if not amazingly accurate yet.

Doesn’t quite work for me yet. I carry two iPhones (one work) and the works one goes into car mode automatically as per work instructions. At which point my personal iPhone tells me I left my works iPhone behind.

Has anyone else started finding copying and pasting text a faff since updating?  Particular any text that extends beyond one line

Copy and paste an image from iMessage to WhatsApp? 😂 I get a great local file address, no image.

The address/search bar at the bottom was very weird in the beta. Glad the top/bottom option was added into the address bar menu.

Actually - to update that query - the issue seems to be trying to copy from the most recent post. Anywhere else on a thread seem fine but on the post right above the reply box highlighting text seems to go phut.

Weird. Maybe it’s just me then - anywhere else on the page it’s fine but on the last post on the page all sorts of things go wrong. You can highlight a word but if you try to pull the little tabs to extend the selection it either refuses, scrolls the page instead , or seemingly selects the whole screen

Just tried it with the text above, and it worked perfectly. I had c’n’p’d text since updating the other day, and I can’t say I’ve noticed any issues since, thought I’d have another go, just in case.
