On the BBC and Ch4 websites when I pull up iPlayer or On Demand to watch a programme, the picture lags behind the audio, sometimes jerking along from frame to frame. Why does this happen?

Your Internet cable has a kink in it - because light waves are short, they can get around the corner, but sound waves are longer and get stuck.

Try straightening out any kinks in the wires.

Poor or slow connection usually causes sync issues like that

Or could your machine be busy running other stuff in the background (eg virus scan etc).

Try using a speed test (e.g. [url= http://www.speedtest.net/ ]this one[/url]). If that says your connection speed is alright, then further options might include trying a different browser, maybe reinstalling flash.
