Is that the best colours they could come up with? We gonna call it Griffindoria? England seems to have invaded North Wales too?

It's Northumberland annexing rest of Northern England?

Living the dream, just rubbing out Kent entirely in Photoshop.

Or is that the new Lorrylandia flag?

Why not?
Assuming we get tight links with Scotland and rejoin the EU.
Be a bit like the Golgofrinchans....

The absence of the 3 leg IoM symbol greatly perturbs me.

@Drac - I'd like to move to Northumberland one day. This enables me to do it without any effort

Only Cumbria ... and a tiny bit of Mercia from that map.

I love the desperate effort to keep hold of all the money in Cheshire.

Bye bye. If the North gets independence, will you all promise to stop moaning?😁

Surely the obvious answer is independence for the South East of England? I'm sure the rest of us would all then get on fine.

It's a truly awful idea for the nation as a whole, and probably wouldn't be economically strong enough to succeed. We "should" be stronger together.

Sadly, if we can't get the London centric government to pull it's head out of its own orifice, then I can see why the idea would be popular

I'd be mostly happy with that as it does include me, but I'd like to see the Peak District included, meaning splitting derbyshire or including all of it. Otherwise, I'll need a passport for my hilly loop to Buxton and back, and the kids across the road will have issues with getting to school

Luckily we are just missed from this. Can't think of anything worse than being lumped in for the sake of it with all of the self obsessed northerners.

I read somewhere recently* that one way for Boris to come out of the CoVid/Brexit catastrophe smelling like roses would be to make England an independent country.

Then he could present as the guy who got rid of the whinging subsidy sucking Scots, (would he still want Wales?), and the saviour and first PM of the revitalised England.

I dismissed it as fantasy at the time, but he is an unconventional PM, and likes easy solutions that can be spun to make him look good.

However he hasn't asked the other "equal" partners in the Union (Scotland, Wales, and NI) for permission to have a referendum yet, so I'll believe it when I see that. 🙂
.
.
* Anyone got a link to that? I didn't bother saving it.

East Anglia independence would make more sense. We would be self sufficient in turnips.

i think it's quite a good idea, we could also split the rest into historic kingdoms. Strathclyde, Wessex, Gwynedd, Kent, Cornwall etc. Then the people will truly have representation.

For a one or two things we'd probably still want to pool our resources, such as power grids, roads, navy, etc and some how present a single united front for things like international sport, trade deals and so on. We could call it the united kingdoms.

1st problem, how do you convince Yorkshire to lower itself to the level of Lancashire?

It's a great battle of East Vs West, Gregs* and Cooplands in one corner, Sayers and £1 bakery in the other.

*Binners is going to be conflicted

I'm in North Shropshire. I want to be in Wales or the new northern country. I don't want to be part of the southern set. 😢

Thats not Northern England. The North doesn't start until Scotch corner. Anything south of that is the Midlands

Way back in Brexit history I really annoyed some brexiters by suggesting that if leaving the EU was a good idea, then applying the same logic would not only imply that the Union should be abandoned, but then that the ancient kingdoms of Northumbria, Mercia, East Anglia, Essex, Kent, Sussex, and Wessex should be re-established. But it doesn't stop there. If smaller unions with reduced co-operation are good, then the next step is back to a collection of fiefdoms, then to warring villages, and then to tribes living in huts. Which is pretty much where we are headed now, I think.

I think that map shows Kent as a lorry park post Brexit.

I'm pretty bored of this island as a whole and its current self harm attitude to everything. It can split up however it likes, I think I'm going to head somewhere else as soon as I can persuade my wife.

That’s practically the Isle of Wight.

The North, nice place but fk all there. I'll stick to the South East where we can comfortably ignore other peoples' existence.

I used to actually think the north would be better joining an independent Scotland. Then we went all Brexity. 🙁

More like dragging them up to be nearly level with us. With having Hull and Rotherham on our books we can cope with a bit more of that sort of thing.
I'd even accept the midlands into this, although if we can find a way of palming Stoke off on the Welsh...

Did the yellow and red stripy bit not vote to leave the EU?

Probably the only way for him to save the Union is to introduce some form of regional government on this sort of basis. I'm not sure his fight with Andy Burnham etc has left the North believing that he'd be on their side though.

Where does Danelaw apply in this brave new world? And will Kent have to include Isle of Sheppy or can we make that independent too?

Kent is soon to be a vassal state of the EU. The fate of Sheppy rests with Brussels now.

Does that mean those of us left in the White and red bit to the can opt back into the EU and deport our Brexiteers (e.g. Farage and Bozza) to S****horpe? I'm sure they'll be welcome.

I'm only in favour of this proposal if we make the Midlands a sort of N/S Korean style DMZ, Brum, Derby, Nottingham, etc hemmed in on either side by guard towers and barbed wire...

Otherwise just split it all up into county based Fiefdoms...

Well Nottinghamshire was always just a buffer between Yorkshire and Leicestershire.

1st problem, how do you convince Yorkshire to lower itself to the level of Lancashire?

I'm sure we could align against a common enemy.

The North, nice place but fk all there.

Aye, 'appen.

Now technically part of France, soon to be renamed 'Farage Garage', which must be pronounced like you're a cast member of Allo Allo
