Could have done without that stupid speech, which suggests it's going to be no better than the first.
Apparently Mr Smith got killed working as a test pilot and that's why he is not in the movie. I just reckon that the studio realised he can't blooming well act.
Can anybody name me a sequel which has been better than the original? Because otherwise I have a new worst ever film (though to be fair, that's worst film I've ever watched, and won't be making that mistake again)

I quite liked the first one, it was all rather tongue in cheek slapstick bigscreen entertainment.
This on the other hand looks like it takes itself way too seriously and is rather bobbins.
First was brilliant, this looks, sadly, like a pile of taking-itself-too-seriously poo!

TBH i always assumed the first was just an utter piss take from start to finish* and the speech about the worlds independence day and the world being saved by an alien conspiracists who had been probed was the clincher.
* Possibly a hollywood bet to show what shit yu could serve up to muppets.
Looks dull, predictable and anodyne. I'm waiting for the Detectorists to come out as a full-length feature film.

Toy story 3 is the best of the lot.
Despicable Me 2 was better then the first one too.
This looks ok. The original was ok the first time you saw it. It isn't a film that works well with repeated viewings.
How people can comment the shines of Will Smiths acting and not say the same about Jeff Goldblum is a mystery to me.

He won't - he'll try and install the USB key with the virus on and realise they've upgraded to USB3 ports and running MacOS...
Thankfully he'll crack their passwords by guessing the mighty leader is called Brian123 and start up iTunes which will bring their entire cunning plans grinding to a halt.
Nearly 20 years on and any few million dollar SciFi movie ends up looking like a B Movie.
The New one just looks like they have gone all out to straight out make a big budget B Movie. Much like Battleship or similar.
This is IMHO AWESOME!

What do I think of Independence Day II? I'll wait until it appears on Netflix.
T2 is in no way better then Terminator. In fact they are 2 different genres.
Empire Strikes Back a better film? I know its popular to say so but really it wasn't - having gone to the cinema to see Star Wars on the week it was released I can honestly say it was a game changer. ESB was just another good sci fi film. Looking at them side by side now is a different frame of reference.
An example of a better sequal than original would be The Good, The bad and the Ugly.

Lol - you're right! However Terminator was in a genre of films I like and T2 was typical unoriginal US high budget blockbuster nonsense (bit like Independance Day)
