...joblesstrackworld, that is!
well, at least for a while- just got offered a 4 month contract doing desktop support for the NHS. sweet.

anyway, it's been 6 years since i did any contracting, and i'd rather not have this be long-term, so with that in mind (to any IT contractors reading this) am i better off using an umbrella company or should i go limited? i've only ever been a contractor once for a few months and went with an umbrella then; it'd be less hassle to do the same this time but is it that much less hassle and would it make a big difference financially? it's not a massive hourly rate but it's a 65 mile round trip commute...

It's not a big hassle to go limited. Accountant would sort most of it out for you.

Edit: sorry forgot the congratulations! 8)

Congrats!
( must have been the threat of midweek rides with me that shone through in your interview! 😉 )

limited company if you're going to be earning over £45k.

Umberella company if less.

Road bike? 😉

Brilliant news fella! Made up for you mate. Celebratory Calderdale run Saturday? Now that you'll only be riding at weekends, same as the rest of us. I can run you through all the barely legal tax scams available to you

*runs off and hides before the socialist death squads arrive* 😀

i can't cycle commute it cos the job involves a lot of travelling between sites and i need to carry stuff with me, so they specified i'd need to have a car etc when i applied. shame really cos otherwise i'd be able to either get superfit, or killed cycling on the m62.

and saturday's out, i already have plans for the day sadly.
