Let the keyoard warriors assemble, but I can guarentee once that grinder was away in his designer shopping bag and he had both hands on the bars he would have had a full flight rugby tackle take down and his arms pinned before he could say oooft. ( yes been there , done it before )

I have to ask why the bloke did not step in and take the angle grinder away.

I've challenged two guys before but they had a hacksaw, I think an angle grinder might make me think twice!
(Dull story, nothing happened, they had broken the key in the lock, and I wasn't going to start anything if they were that way inclined)
I'm just amazed at how blatant that is!

It was in the news, there were 4 of them, not just 2, and the guy thought better of it in case they were carrying other weapons, can't really say I blame him or anyone else.

That's because they know there are no consequence to them If they're caught.

4 changes the dynamic somewhat
2 is dangerous enough as you say , they will be carrying blades as they are shits . One would hope other members of the public would step in once one is restrained. Nick his grinder and wave it in the direction of the others?
Nothing happened to the lad I caught . wish i had ground his face into the brickwall a little harder.

I've come across this too. I called the police, the response was really good- 2x cars and a van within minutes. I was surprised, apparently it's because the angle grinder counts as a weapon

Im no shrinking violet and got myself into trouble before challenging people in the street and I would not have got involved in this. No end of small groups like this wandering around our cities and many of them have knives and absolutely no fear of consequences. As above an angle grinder would make a terrible mess. If an assault on a person I like to think I would have thrown caution to the wind but not a bike.

I mean, you should be able to leave branded, obviously expensive, desirable ebikes locked up out in the street without them being stolen. Of course you should. But you can't. I think that's quite obvious without seeing the video.
