I'm not even a musician but I've thought of this more than once. I'd call my band....

Fast Spiders

Absolutely Prophetic

or

Pre-heated spoons.

derek starship and the five bellies

He's down to one now.

Mine - Chet Sidewinder and The Photons

We'd be a SKA band with a massive horn section.

Having been in several bands over the years, I always wanted to avoid any band name that the NME could either make a pun of, or use against you in a review.

If I ever get my dream Ska band up and running it will (probably wont) be called "King Jimmy and the art fakers.

"capslock" (must be written in lower-case - indie rock)

"insert band name here" (makes promotional material look unfinished - drum and bass as thats what i see the msot posters for)

"C**t-****" (guaranteed t-shirt sales from the under 21s - doesnt matter what genre)

"the fibonacci sequence" (sounds intelligent - prog rock)

"spinal chord in a bap" (because i like alan partridge)

My cousin had a band called "The Abominable Anenome Phenomenon" but I think it would make a better album title.

My "band" (actually just me playing everything and recording it) is called Deep Water Blackout. It has no meaning to me, it came up as a random wikipedia article which I thought it sounded cool and it wasn't taken, so now it's mine 😆

Crepitus - "a medical term to describe the grating, crackling or popping sounds and sensations experienced under the skin and joints"

Metal band should all be named after ailments.

+1

first track on our album was "Occular gyro crisis" 🙂 a reviewer said we had obviously made it up and that it opened with a time signature not known to man, but it was 4:4. silly reviewers.

Was in a high school band called the clits. We thought we were so rebellious. We did bad Punk covers. We wanted to do the end of year 13 party but the head wasn't impressed.

thats how i wrote it to begin with, but double and tripply checking meant google/wiki at the time insisted it was the way it ended up... the rest of the band (not knowing what it meant) voted we followed google 🙁

as an advocate for putting things to a vote i shot myself in the foot on that one!

the lyrics had nothing to do with the title, but the reviewer didnt know that.

Back when I set up Rock Band, my girlfriend's band name was "Nine Inch Heels" which amused me greatly.

I remember this from here a while ago, but the following technique can be used for this very thing:

Hit and hope design? ...it works!

1 - Go to "wikipedia." Hit “random” or click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random[/url

The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 - Go to "Random quotations" or click http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3

The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

3 - Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days” or click http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
