I've got a few odds and ends that need painting, and have the bundled spray gun with my compressor.
What do I need to know?
Can I thin water based paint (i.e. just about anything these days) with water?

How are you going to carry a compressor and a spray gun to a train yard or a tunnel?
You definitely want cans and a backpack.

try filling it with water and running if off the compressor and pretend to paint something - see how long the compressor can keep up the necessary air flow - quite often this kind of thing is bundled in because its cheap to do so - but the compressor itself isn't really up to the job.
