Not the best photo, but give me your guesses to what this is.

We seem to get loads of them in our bedroom if we leave the window open at night. Very inconvenient in the summer heat. It looks they're attracted to the light.

That looks like a bitey nasty thing.

More likely the co2 than the light.

(that said the thing in thinking is a mouth might actually be a leg and it's possibly a wasp)

Yep. Males and females look slightly different, I don't tend to look when they're buzzing in my ear before they get splatted.

Some people definitely attract mosquitos more than others. Apparently not all people taste the same. I believe that ginger people taste a bit like marmite. Which might explain why they either get bitten a lot or not at all.
