yeah ton, you're so right. it's 100% atkins. I mean i'm advising people to eat nothing but fat and protein. how would we survive without your knowledgable and fact-based insight? i know you're upset by being so big, but no need to deliberately mislead.

yes you can eat carbs on it ton, just not the white highly processed ones that you love so much such as bread, pasta and sugar

which '2 main food groups'? did you only choose two from the three - fats, proteins and low GI carbs?

silly old you, pay attention at the back

Nutritional value per 100 g (3.5 oz)
Energy 1,477 kJ (353 kcal)
Carbohydrates 60 g
Sugars 2 g
Dietary fiber 31 g
Fat 1 g
Protein 26 g
Thiamine (Vit. B1) 0.87 mg (67%)
Folate (Vit. B9) 479 ?g (120%)
Iron 7.5 mg (60%)

Info taken from Wiki, so might be incorrect.

From what I can see lentils contain 60g per 100g of dried lentils, where do you get the idea that it's a carb free diet?

I'm off for a bike ride now, see ya later...

neil853 ygm.

I'll send copies later if your email is in your profile. No visible e-mail.... No copy. 😉

its not atkins - it's a lot closer to EF - evolutionary fitness. look up arthur de vany (the times article is a good start) for a bit more info.

just because my vehicle doesn't have 4 wheels doesn't make it a bike!

ton, you know you can.

one day a week you can eat whatever you like, but then you knew that.

or did you forget? try to pay attenion at the back instead of seeking attention at the back.

Well I found it worked rather well. I lost the weight I wanted and have not put it back on. I exercised whilst on the diet without any problems. just the occasional urge for something sugary but they didn't last long. I have a new love of fresh beans too, it must be worth it just for that alone 🙂

Interested in this, so basically portion size doesn't matter? and just cook with the items that are listed in the plan?

And this diet can be done alongside excercise? i say that as i cycle to work 25 miles a day 4 days a week.

The main reason for me wanting to try this diet is that i'm not loosing any weight while doing this. I would like to try and get a bit leaner than my 15 1/2 stone i am at the moment 🙄

Alternatively you could just head over to marksdailyapple.com and read about the diet there, as far as i can tell it's almost exactly the same as the one iDave [s]devised[/s]popularised on stw.

No visible email MikeG.

Everyone who asked and has a visible email should have received and will be losing kilos as we speak. I believe that you can lose 2kg simply by reading it!!! 😆

Apart from recipes containing fruit and dairy products..? Am I looking at the wrong thing on there? I just searched using the box at the top for 'recipes'.

As i see it both advocate real food, low sugar, carbs reduced from the standard western diet and not from refined grains & a lot more calories from fat. Fruit is an occasional treat in both, and Mark Sisson says dairy isn't optimal, but shouldn't be too problematic if you can digest it okay. They ain't that different.

Anyhoo regardless i like it. I've felt much better since i quit eating wheat, foods bought with multiple ingredients and stopped avoiding fat like it was bad for you. Not lost any weight, but i only weigh 10.5 stone anyway.

Not sure, when is it?
I might go for a look but not taking pictures.

Are you off to Hoyo de Manzanares Sunday for the DH?

http://www.festibike.com/

17/18/19 September

Could pop over to Hoyo for the DH, might take the kids. I seem to remember the bit through the main square and over the flight of stairs at the exit was quite fun to watch.
