[#2604174]

I was in Covent Garden on Friday and there was a long queue of people outside the Apple shop waiting for Ipad 2's. The security man told me that some of them had been there 12 hours plus.
I could just about understand queuing for a sale item but I don't get this, can anyone explain it to me?

Some people are excited about getting newly launched Apple products, some are not. I think you might be in the latter group...

Help??

Just been released innit.

The iPad2 is the geek 20-40 year old male equivalent of Justin Bieber.

Yeah I get it's all very exciting but why not just wait a day or two and then go and get one without a queue?

We drive for hours to ride down hills on a bike.

They wait for hours to buy a piece of technology.

Both cost money. Both seem strange to outsiders. Both have the same end result:

A short period of happiness for the user.

"I was one of the first people in the country to have one of these."
