My Desire's just deleted all of my texts without prompt, I've looked it up and apparently it's just a thing that happens with them 😐
There's a back up app you can get to secure them, if you have a Desire or another Android HTC I suggest you do the same. I've read it can do the same with emails although this hasn't happened to me.
It's left a solitary data text from 2.2.12 though, odd.

I use mighty text on my pc so they are backed up immediately
