Down pipe missing off the gutter, but no surprise there as it was only temporary fixed after having the walls rendered. One fence panel in half, but the bastid trampoline is still there killing the grass!

A row of 5 garages has deposited it's roof in my garden destroying my shed in the process (managed to rescue my bike and spare parts)also taking out my and my neighbours phone lines! The garages seem to have self destructed through the night as I also appear to have piles of rubble in my garden now.

Is it hideously inappropriate to ask for pics on this thread?

Pics? Pffft. Videos! Bit blowy in Glasgow but looked a lot worse further down the west coast.

I think flee will definitely be getting the camera out at some point. Good luck with the insurance mayhem that's probably going to follow!

The insurance should be easier than normal. There will be so many claims after a big event that they simply cannot send a loss adjuster to every site that was damaged. Take lots of photos!
They may even pay out quickly as they'll be swamped with claims

Think this thread is pointless without pics, unless it's a boring fence panel.... Need to put into context 🙂

Not bad, one biggish branch came off an Oak tree and fell on the road (very quiet), so I dragged it up to the house with the car for conversion into logs at the weekend.
BIL had a a fir tree down and while he was in the garden the shed roof flew over his head!
Good mate 2 miles away lost a 300 year old Cedar tree that was in the middle of their (big) driveway. He says it's like a bomb has been dropped. He and his wife are gutted.

flee5 - wait for the wood burners to wake up and you will have lots of help chopping the wood up!

Hope everyone is safe. Heard someone had been killed by a power line which was down.

Pleased to report that the greenhouse I built in 2009 on my own (with a bad back) that the know-it-all BIL predicted would blow over...

...hasn't 😉

PeterPoddy, have you demanded they send the Army in to sort out that mess? Personally I'd be on national TV screaming from the high heavens for more support.

Our empty wheelie bin fell over and the flap on the oil tank was lifted up.

Wheelie bin now righted and twig used to secure oil tank flap.

I think that we may have lost a peg or two off the washing line. I live in a marginal constituency, so once the news crews and politicians are off the lawn I’ll go and look for them.

The canes I stuck in the ground to secure a sapling in the wind blew over.

Ironically the sapling is still there.

Wood cladding on the front of the attached garage blew of leaving a sodding great hole in the centre of the house. Turns out it was all rotten anyway and is due to be removed as part of some renevations but still anoying.

Just been out with a big tube of no more nails to start a temporary bodge.

Also missing a ridge tile off the roof.

Russian cannibal rats ghost ship spotted in Staines High Street

Fears of bubonic plague were played down today by Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Eric Pickles.
‘As long as I’m in control there is no cause for panic.” he said. “I deal with cannibal rats in the House of Commons on a daily basis.’
