Does riding like a girl count ? I could out a few on those grounds.

That's not fair, I know of a few girls who ride better than me

Unbelievable - 3 pages of posts about female mountainbikers, and SFB hasnt even appeared once!

Simon, Simon - Are you ok?? have you locked yourself in the photo-dungeon again? 😆

I suspect I've been blocked from my office pooter (possibly in a vain attempt to get me to attend to work), so I have to shift to a different machine to access STW 🙁

I'm a girl,bat for the other side and I'm a mountain biker.

Oddly enough it's the mountain biker bit that most people struggle to accept. And only really get embarrassed about my choice in slippers 🙂

*Waves to all*

Feel like part of the furniture really, is that good or bad?

I've often been called a woman when riding my bike, a quick check down my shorts reveals my riding partners need to get their eyes tested.

Yeti you meticulously pack your bag?

Your doing a really bad job at impersonating a girl!

I like to be able to find my lippy quickly... mwah!

[Edit] Anyways emsz, I find that offensive, it's hard enough that all men think we can't be orgnasied and that we run our lives and handbags in a confused muddle?

I'm not a girl.

However my missus is, and does occasionally post using my account. I realise the mods might not take too kindly to that though...

PJM1974 - She won't be the only one. I used hubby's a/c for years before becoming bunnyhop.

There's a lot of gender swapping going on here 😉

We can be organised. Our lives can be organised. But for those that have handbags, those handbags cannot be organised. It's the rules.

Oh, don't get me wrong, handbags will be meticulously organised for a week or two after purchase. This time will be different, we tell ourselves. Within the month we're scrabbling around trying to find our wallet which is drowning in a mass of random makeup items, mobile phones, a comb and small rainforest's worth of receipts and a random flyer that was randomly shoved at us last time we walked down the high street.

Lol - is that in the same context as all mountain or DH or XC or FR?

PS fantastic thread btw & I'm a bloke (just in case) 😉

Didn't realise there were categories like mountainbikes.

So what does an XC woman look like?

erm. I'm of the male persuasion but will admit that I have a habit of riding like 'a girl'.

I find it funny that there's not enough girls on here and some of the girls that are on here are pretending to be boys as they don't want people to know they are girls......

Isn't there another girl on here called Miaowing Kat or something similar who posted a while ago as she was having a bit of a hard time and got quite a lot of good advice & offers of riding companions.....? She posts now & then, but think she's more of a lurker.

We used to have a regular riding buddy who is a girl/bird/chick - in fact she kinda kicked off our group riding sessions but has since stopped riding as much. It was nice to have a little bit of balance (plus she was dead easy to creep out on night rides).

I'm thinking a whole bottle of Absynthe and thinking like van Gogh?

Well I still cant see how that is going to change your gender. Making you half deaf on the pother hand 😀

I'm with Mrs Toast on the handbags, my is, always has been and always will be a. way too big 2. never organised and d. full of rubbish I never ever use or need although bunnyhop *Charcoal and grey floral bag with cream lining* might make a nice Christmas present (in case my lurking OH has bothered to stalk my thread today) 🙄

Just while we are on it - how come some women get known as birds/chicks? Just curious 8)

do you see how you've answered your own question there? 😆

my old missus who was faster than me both DH and XC would have given you a virtual head-butt for writing that!

That's why I put it in speech marks...........The girl we used to ride with would regularly whup me on technical stuff & was far faster than me (although I did start making in-roads there).

Never understood the whole issue of masculinity/being shown up with a girl riding harder, faster, more skilfully, to be honest.....I just think 'good effort, must try harder....!'

Mrs MTG posts on here under her own user name, rides trailquests and is usually the only solo veteran woman in the MTB marathons we ride.

Dunno why she hasn't introduced herself yet.

I'm used to being the only girl on rides, and I hold my head up proudly in the "riding like a girl" stakes, I'm naff at it, but I enjoy it 😀

Hi, another 'read more than i post' girl here. Usually ride solo or with guys but that doesnt bother me. Build and maintain my bikes and to quote a chap i rode with a couple of months ago i 'know alot about the technical aspect of bikes and stuff which is cool for a bird' 🙂
