Was thinking about this driving down the mway a few weeks back!
Lemsip lorry ahead of me - wondered how many packets it could hold?
So question is - assuming it is a standard sized artic lorry and the lemsips were not in boxes just the sachets - no pallets - how many could you fit in stacked neatly?
i reckoned north of 12.3 million!
Depends how many brexit refugees are hiding in there!
20 ton payload, 10g per sachet - 2 million
Achooly !! ... I reckon more like 10m ... there's a lot of air in them there little sachet.
Now imagine that the lorry is filled with coke, and not Lemsip.

15000 bottles?
Is there a second lorry with the hookers?

Yeah I get bored when there's congestion too.
Ooo your are in luck ,I have a sachet in my drawer 🙂
Measurments are :- Outside edge 94.21 x 57.00 x 0.24mm thick
Inside pocket 81.00 x 47.00 x 3.0 mm (Avg thickness)
6g of powder .
So what's the volume of a truck space ?
There's always a second lorry.
how many could you fit in stacked neatly?
me? I'd get bored after the first couple, plus you wouldn't be able to stack that many neatly as they'd just slide around.
Yeah I get bored when there’s congestion too.
Excellent work!
This problem is nothing to be sniffed at

Working on those measurements and assuming the truck volume is the equivalent of a 40ft container, 67.6m3.
I make it 52,452,186 sachets.
But you'd either have to hold the container vertically or have a hatch in the roof, otherwise they'd all keep falling out (lemslipping?)
Man the way I feel right now I’d gladly take the whole lot!!
How many Maltesers would fit in a standard 40ft shipping container?

That sounds like a food challenge...
How well articulated is the lorry?
Having spoken to the lorry, I found it to be very articulate.
The active ingredient in lemsip is just paracetamol. To be more efficient they could carry generic paracetamol tablets.
A standard artic can pull 26 tons, being generous minus 1 ton for pallets and packaging, 25 tons of paracetamol tablets.
At say 0.5 grams each..
Approximately 50,000,000 tablets.
many years ago did some work on supplying stuff for an additional Kit Kat line at Rowntrees in York can't remember number of trucks per day but it was impressive - google says current capacity 5million/day...so when you get bored of lemsips
do they still make Yorkie bars? .....because I know the answer...0 / nil / null / cero - the truck drivers eat them all

One of the active ingredients is paracetamol, the other is and phenylephrine.
Some types of Lemsip also contain caffeine to perk you up a bit.

Phenylephrine as a decongetant is a no more effective than a placebo.
67,726,386 assuming a 10mm diameter malteser
Have you done this by experimentation, or by calculating the volume of a malteser and dividing the volume of a 40ft container by that? Does it take into account that 10mm diam spheres will not pack absolutely and there is going to be interstitial spacing? maybe using 74% efficiency as the rough rule of thumb?
Bottom line - can i use this as an excuse to go and buy some packs of maltesers from the corner shop and do some 'measuring' for myself?

DO it for science!

Interesting. Not my personal experience, but I get that could be placebo.
If you get the pharmacy-strength Lemsip it contains Pseudoephedrine instead

in patients with seasonal allergic rhinitis.
Thanks I'm now thinking about buckets. Used to stack 240 builders buckets on a pallet. I think they used to stack a second pallet on top of that. So how many buckets in the artic?
