Just looking at a saddle on Ebay. It's at £38 and brand new from Spa Cycles it's £45.
Tempted to see how close to the new price this could go.

I've watched plenty of things get bid over the new cost at some proper retailers.

I think it's a combination of people not doing much looking around and then getting caught up in the excitement towards the end.

Well it's something I'm after, so in for a penny!

I think it was 105 STI's I was looking at, some on Ebay were a £100 more than Ribble?

It's rare to find cheap stuff on evilBay these days. I "need" anotherThomson seat post. Recently they've been going for marginally less than new, unscratched, warranted ones from Merlin.

I've regularly experienced the same as Peterfile says, don't understand some people paying same or more than new for a 2nd hand item with effectively zero guarantee.
I would bid no more than, cheapest I can find it new - 25%, and take into account P&P from either. The thing to do is set your limit, don't get attached to the item and be prepared to remove it from your watch list.
