Am thinking of a short (couple days) break to Bruges or Brussels during the Easter holidays but don't have much of a budget.
Just how cheap can one purchase a Eurostar ticket for and am i looking at a premium for travelling during Easter hols?
One quick search of official website gave me a return price of around £180 to Brussels. Add in an onward ticket to Bruges and accommodation and all of a sudden you're looking at circa £350 for two days away minus food and drink.

A weeks full board on Costa del Bland would probably be a fair bit less than that.

Is there anywhere that cheap Eurostar deals can be snapped up? Is it best to book accommodation as part of a package deal?

Cheapest I've seen is around £75 each way, chances of a cheap ticket over Easter are close to zero. Best bet is to get a holiday package with ticket included. I travel Paris/London regularly and it's cheaper to fly usually.

Isn't your onward journey from Brussels free? Pretty sure the local train to Bruges was free when I went on eurostar

Coach is your cheapest bet but takes about 6 hours. Think you've left it a bit late for the cheap train tickets.

You won't get a cheap ticket this late.

My missus went to Aywaille in Belgium just recently and because we booked a few months in advance and she went at off peak times it was 30 quid each way. There was an extra tenner on top on both journeys which gives you unlimited continuous travel in Belgium also.
