Had a rummage earlier and found a copy of Sim City 2000 (from the 90s!).
Stuck it into the CD drive on my computer, but it would even read it.
How can I get it working...?

You should be able to read the cd?
Google a program called "Dosbox", allows you to run old DOS games. Needs a bit of fettling though.
Or pay a fiver and buy it from Gog.com

Here you go (I assume that if it's on Archive.org it's morally acceptable, especially since you already own it.
Loads of good old games on Gog as mentioned though, replaying Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine at the moment.
