My hotmail account has been hacked. Today, i logged onto hotmail, and it froze me out of the account saying that my account may have been used to send spam. Well it has, i have a fair number of Delivery Status Notification Failure emails in my inbox from post.master@hotmail.com
how do i stop this and how do i improve my hotmail security?!

I know a few people that have had their Hotmail account hacked, me included. A simple password change has usually done the job, to something convoluted with nonsense words and numbers.
Yeah. Complex password, malware scan.
MS are trying to cut down on the amount of spam that is being sent via Hotmail:

When you reset your password make it something with a mix of upper- and lowercase letters, a number or two and a non-alphabetic character, for example:
McGU!g4N ( using the example of the name of the bottle of wine that is in front of me at the moment )
Obviously make sure that you don't use some variation of one of the words in the account name - if your account is joe.bloggs@hotmail.com don't use some variation of joe or blogs or anything else that might be easy to guess.
also, make sure.you don't use the same pw you use for other sites eg here, etc. loads of people use email and same pw for everything. and wonder why they get 'hacked'...
and check PayPal if you use it!
