Blimey that's gone down hill. I did a bit of renovation work there during the 90's and thought it seemed quite nice.
I recognised the monument from a pic by STW's artist in residence. 😀
I had my 18th birthday party in there. I don't think it's been redecorated since.
I've just watched the first 10 minutes online and like Alex, my heart sank with each successive room! I've also always thought the place was too posh for me but now I can see just another poxy run down English dump; no wonder the chains like Premier Inn do so well.
There's a massive place just a few miles up the road in Helmshore, the Holden Vale Hotel & Conference Centre that's been closed now for about five years. Dunno what went wrong there; maybe the investors were hoping to cash in on My Travel just down the road.
