My current set up for home audio is a hudl with Spotify and a podcast player. This is linked to my hi-fi via Bluetooth. Downside of this is that the BBC radio app is bobbins and stops steaming radio sporadically.
For films etc, I have a laptop with a nas drive on network & Netflix connected to a projector. I don't have, nor want a TV.
At present this set up suits me perfectly well though my hudle is slowly dying via micro USB port.
Before I replace the hudl for it's modern equivalent and perhaps a dab radio, what are the alternatives?
Sorry, should of stated that the laptop is also on its way out so combining the laptop & tablet set up into one device which can be hidden would be nixe. All that is visible via current set up is turntable, Bluetooth dongle and floor standing speakers.
I would be getting an iPad and synology NAS. Use the DS Video app to stream from the NAS to the TV on something like a chromecast, I believe that would also work for Netflix.
You've got a HiFi
A Spotify subscription
Wifi (?)
Smart Device(s)
Then the answer is chromecast, audio for the hifi and full fat for the projector
And then get an Android tablet or phone
How does the audio work in Chromecast for the projector? Does the projector have to be linked to the hi-fi via wires or can it be done wirelessly?
Chromecast is a HDMI source so the audio comes in via that.
