Watched the last one. Horrific program, half the prison should be in solitary the other half in a mental health scheme.

Legalising drugs would give more power to the authorities. Not that I want spice available in the local offy.

Spice has not long been made illegal.

Grim viewing that's for sure.

Watched last weeks. Fascinating, disturbing and some what not unexpected but played up the camera a bit, I may have recognised some.

I didn't actually think that James would take his own life (so much for my 'expertise & experience)

That other crank who kept smashing up is just a manipulative shite.

I feel very sorry for Chris, who's very very vulnerable & will end up back inside & even worse off.

What would you do with Chris, clearly prison isn't the right place for him. I'd almost class him as disabled.

not watched but i spent a week in there in 1990, was a right dump, 23 hours a day locked up, a bucket for a toilet, meals in the cell and cockroaches and rats running around everywhere. although those conditions would act as more of a deterant than the cushy place i got sent after that.

Easy, put him in a secure hospital such as Winterton

Oh wait, thanks you Tory ****s.

Where did you go after Durham Bigfoot?

Nice one Bigfoot!

Do you remember Mr Watson, Mr McCabe or Mr Derry? 😉

I was a bit nervous watching as my son works at HMP Durham as a Prison Officer. He says some things were exaggerated. There seemed to be more senior staff about than there actually is. They don't have buckets, rats or cockroaches now.

Truly grim viewing. You thought that James was turning a corner then he kills himself. Really shocking!

Mrs Binners was crying watching Chris. She's spent a lot of time working with people with severe learning difficulties like he clearly had. She pointed out the obvious.... they need help and support, not shoving in prison and forgotten about.

Imagine how desperate things have to get that you're actually really chuffed when you finally get sectioned, as that's the best outcome available to you?

The staff came across really well. As genuinely caring about what happened to the people in their care, and doing their best in very challenging circumstances.

Your'e right, I've never seen as many CM's. Not so sure about things being exaggerated though, that crank who was smashing up? I've seen many like him.

Horrible watching.

it is, & for 23k a year, it can be your dream. Thats what you’ll be on as a fully fledged officer. No wonder HMPS can’t recruit fast enough to keep up with staff leaving.

What happened to this? Watched first two episodes on ALL4, now only one episode is showing, and no sign of the third, and final, episode?

I visited Northallerton for work a few years back, I thought that was grim enough!

My ex worked at Springhill ( open prison and not too bad as folk seemed to appreciate being there. Lots of white collar criminals. Even had Charlie Brockett there for a while.)

The down side was she split some of her hours with time at Grendon Underwood. A deeply unpleasant place due to the nature of the clientele.

I imagine it’s been taken down as there could be a court case/legal issues featuring one or some of the inmates

Heads up. Episode 3, Violence, has just popped up on All4.

Edit: Not sure I remember the previous episodes having such an obvious soundtrack?
