Naan is acceptable, but chutney, good grief man!

I've just finished cooking up a great batch of chili, nachos already demolished

I now have a cheese-and-chutney dilemma...

Cheeses: Blue Shropshire, Manchego, Cheddar, and some sheep's milk cheese
Chutneys: Plum or Spicy fig
Crackers: Standard Cream or chilli flatbreads
Refreshment: LBV Port or Cornish Cider

I'm thinking Cream Cracker with blue cheese and spicy fig with a glass of port

Or

Chilli flatbread with Manchego and plum with a nice glass of glider.

I've just been to the boozer for the afternoon, and comes home to Turkey "curry". There is nothing spicy in the in-laws house, so mango chutney it is.

Oh well, beggars can't be choosers.

Earlier I followed Jamie Oliver's recipe for roast beef.

The roast beef was the perfect main to share with the family at the buffet, lots of praise and it disappeared quickly, but the icing on the cake was sitting in the kitchen (alone with the washing up), with a glass of vintage tawny port, eating the carrots and onions from the bottom of the roasting tin.

I don't think I have ever eaten something quite as perfect as a slow roasted carrot and dripping/cow juice.

Oh, Christ, I'm now drooling at just the memory of the taste, it was just divine.
