[Closed] Help! Windows Power Expansion virus

A friend of the family has just infected their laptop with this. I'm using C-Cleaner and even going back to DOS prompt but cannot shift it. Anyone with any helpful advise - very grateful.
Chap has exams tomorrow so it's urgent.

you sure it's a real virus & not just a malware popup trying to flog stuff (maybe including more virus) ?

Ccleaner is for tidying up, not for viruses, isn't it ?
Has he no antivirus ?

Quickest might be to get an online scan from [url= http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/solutions/activescan/ ]here[/url] or else download something like microsoft security essentials, avast or avg antivirus (he should have one of these afterwards anyway). Then also run some malware programme like malwarebytes.

as above. have you tried antivirus in safe mode?
