Apparently the answer to the following equation is 0.04, but how?
0.1d = 2.5(1+d)x -0.1
Is that an x or a multiply?
is that a letter x or a multiplication sign?
assuming it's an x, they cancel out and i got d=-1...

If multiplication..
Cancel out the 0.1
d = -2.5(1+d)
d = -2.5 -2.5d
3.5d = -2.5
d = -2.5/3.5 = -0.714285714...
If x..
0.1d = 2.5(1+d)x -0.1
(0.1d + 0.1)/(1 + d) = 2.5x
0.1(1 + d)/(1 + d) = 2.5x
0.1/2.5 = x = 0.04

d is a variable in this, x is a constant - possibly why it's throwing people off, it's a little odd.
no honestly it is my maths ability despite an A in O level in 1986 I am poor at "proper" maths forgotten almost everything.
