Hey all,

So...a while back I sat and just about balled my eyes out reading the bullheart thread, yet felt ten times better for having read it. No-one in my (immediately related) family had ever had cancer, not one, heart attacks and strokes yes, cancer? Not ever. Infact it'd been a talking point in the pub around me and friends about diet and so on, with a 'how the hell has no-one had it?'

..until last week anyway. My mum skyped me (i'm in Canada) to tell me her 'news' and laid it out quite plainly regarding that she was having a masectomy come January, with biopsy of her lymph being done early, before the masectomy is done. She's decided to go ahead with reconstructive surgery afterwards having met with a few friends who have survived breast cancer themselves, some who didn't have reconstruction, some who did.

A bit of a shock to learn this two days before I defended my academic research before the degree awarding committee...but anyway! Certainly took the stress off, my mind was understandably...not really there. (Degree achievement unlocked by the way 😉 )

Anyway. She's upbeat as a bull, so I've purchased some of the bullheart t-shirts for her and her boyfriend (prostate cancer sufferer) but what I'd love to do, is direct her in the direction of the bullheart thread for her and her partner to sit down and read together. But....I can't find it! I've tried searching 'cancer' 'bullheart' but I am failing miserably. If someone can link me to it, it'd be very much appreciated.

They're both very active for people in their mid-sixties, and damned if I'm going to ever let this stop her. She retired in the middle of last year, so learning this news was a bit of spanner in the works to say the least! Still...atleast she's going to be keeping busy I guess, killing this damned disease.

Thanks again STW crew.

You don't want to read that old tripe. Good luck to your mum. My email is on my profile if she wants to chat.
