Well, it wasnt actually a "job". i was working as a part time labourer for my mate to just keep on top of the bills. But last week i got layed off and am now living off the money from selling bike parts. Which is the whole idea of the previous thread i made last week. Cheers, mikey

smee - thats fine, i dont expect anyone on here to believe me at all. I never asked these people to donate money to me. I am very thankful for that. My original request was to get ideas and to sell my bike for the money.

Smee - you really do not believe me on this one do you. If you have nothing nice to say then dont say anything at all please. These people are kind enough to donate a pound to me and that is there own choice. I am very thankful for this and it helps me out an awful lot. Thank you guys!!

No I don't believe you on this one. Not one single bit of it. Especially not when you were trying to buy bike bits just a couple of weeks ago.

It looks like a scam to me. Good on you for getting folk to give you money.

Ok, yes i was looking at buying bike parts a few weeks ago. Now i dont have the money and i need money ASAP to pay this months rent or im buggered. Which is why i am selling my bike to fund this. As noone is interested in my bike, i am asking people for ideas - Not money!!

Here is an idea - dont pay the rent. They will probably need a court order to evict you. In the mean time get some benefits sorted out and get a job.

So my landlord cant just kick me out? apparently, my friend told me this, that i cannot claim benefits because i was working a few weeks back. i have to wait 6 months before i can claim. i have no idea if this is true or not. Thanks for the advice.

Your landlord cannot kick you out and you can claim benefits straight away.

You can claim if you got laid off / made redundant.

But surely if you got a paper round, as you were going to do a week ago, then that wouldn't have paid your rent. Would it?

You can claim straight away... I've been jobless for 3 months and 3 days now, and have had my £60.50 / week since then...

So you didnt have a job, and got a job on the side working as a labourer for a mate then he laid you off, so now youve not got a job, so where you signing before, how did you pay the rent before, like ive said go to jobcentre, and CAB, others have said the same, the landlordneeds to go to court to get you out ,but because youre young , he/she may make your life a pain, get proper advice, your council should have a bevefits advice dept so ask them.

Get signed on - even if there is a waiting period and there is in some cases IIRC your waiting time is from when you first sign on.

Nursing homes are always looking for staff - cleaners as well as carers - go ask round a few local ones - I bet you get a job by the third one you visit.

Smee - shut up. Plonker

If you really want benefit / tenancy rights advice, then mail me. happy to help, and i'll do it for free 😉

BTW, if you register for benefits monday, you could apply for a crisis loan immediately you would only be able to get enough money to cover for emergency's, but you would get money.

while we still (just about) have a welfare state that we pay taxes for, there's really no need to be sending people cash as well 🙂

As you can tell these donations are very very kind I will not do the same, not that I don't believe in your situation. I suggest when your sorted financially you either donate a similar some to say steven murray or mike aitken or perhaps donate your labour for a couple of days. what bike is it your selling gotta link

one of the few organisations with a steady stream of customers (unfortunately) at the moment - taking on circa a 1,000 a month, so the rumour goes

just re-employing the 30,000 or so they've culled over the last few years in an 'efficiency drive'
