Don't do that. I thought for a moment it was going to be Mandy Patinkin who'd checked out.
Oh dear....I love The Princess Bride!
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means
Applicable in so many cases
Such a fantastic tale.
Sad day.😪
Aw, sad news.
Must dig this out and re-read it, a very entertaining book...

Introduced to to my kids a month back. The next few days we were rhyming everything we could.
Great movie and a very watchable actor.
The future's all yours, you lousy bicycles.
Inconceivable!
Sad to hear this, I went through a stage of buying his books back in the day, a great writer.
Marathon Man - one of the best books ever and a great film too (not even mentioned in that article is it?)(Is it safe?!)
Magic, Control, Tinsel, all great books.
RIP
I too have fond memories of WIlliam Goldman's works. Never knew about Princess Bride (and still haven't watched it) but last night I decided to stay in and watch Manchurian Candidate. Sadly I screwed up and found myself watching the 2004 remake. Half an hour in and I gave up, and I would normally watch Denzel in anything.
Luckily I was able to find the original on an old drive. And after this afternoon's ride I'll be re-reading Condon's original book, and maybe trying to remember where my copy of Adventures in the screen trade is. And then watching Marathon Man.
Never knew about Princess Bride (and still haven’t watched it)
:O
You need to do something about that!
Oh not the actor???
Gonna look up those books....
and "Brothers" - Sequel to Marathon Man, while you're at it 🙂
I've been trying to convince my wife that Inigo Montoya is a good name for our soon to be firstborn. She's not convinced. Though I don't really want to be killed by a six fingered man, so perhaps for the best.
The Princess Bride took an another layer of greatness when I watched it with my kids and realised lots of it was filmed where I now live (The Peak District).
I had no idea it was a novel first - will have to read!
the novel has much more of the interjections from the narrator (i.e. Peter Falk). It's very entertaining.
