After the devastating floods on boxing day it's been a long year of recovery for Hebden Bridge and the Calder Valley.

Despite the devastation Hebden has been nominated for the Great British High Street awards.

Currently Hebden Bridge is in second place to Chipping Norton. I know many riders on here will have ridden the trails around Hebden and spent time in the Pubs coffee shops and cafes.

You can vote for Hebden Bridge at the link below voting is allowed once per day until the 18th.

It would be a great way to end a difficult year for Hebden Bridge by winning this award and showing how far the recoveries come in a short space of time.

Voted. I'm from Mirfield originally and have had some great night's out in Hebdon. Can't remember a single one of them so they must have been great. Plenty of horrendous hangovers whilst laid out on my mates couch in Mytholmroyd.

Voted. I visit and shop there most weekends when I can.

Lots of indie shops, a nice chippy and microbar 😀

I hope the bikeshop is upto steam again too.

Thanks all. I appreciate its a difficult decision deciding which way to vote.

On the one hand you have the damp lesbians and on the other

Voted for HB, I did a geography field trip there back in 91. Had a breakfast and a cuppa in a cafe, a pint at lunch time with the teachers and bought a bag of weed. Best school trip Eva!

Another vote for for Hebden, despite the fact that I live down the road and hate the place with a passion 😛

You can vote once a day, every day. Just saying. There's probably people in Chipping Norton getting their house staff on the case every day. 😉

Done.

Spent more than a few weekends up there in the summer.

Amazing Scenery, trails, food, pubs and people.

Like both places - enjoy the riding in Hebden but lots of my family live in Chipping Norton and I'm very fond of it.

Tough call for me.

I'm not voting for that shower down there, especially that eejit with the free hugs placard. Also those lazy buggers Ed and Brant are down there pretending to make trousers while drinking instead...bastards

Chipping Norton is shite in comparison, pretty underwhelmed each time I have visited, Hebden all the way.
