Anybody had the 'pleasure' of placing an order in the last few days? Just curious if/how prices have settled...

I had a look the other day.

Things have settled but there seems to be quite a difference between individual suppliers.

The best I had was 69p a litre, going up to about 84p a litre. (North Northumberland)

Aberdeenshire - got a fill on Monday at 68p/L or so. Not a bargain but a hell of a lot better than the £1.50/L or so we were seeing a few weeks ago.

68..... How much of a tank was that -who with ?

Johnsons/connons that I normally use  still sitting at 79/82p

Still got 2 bars from last summer.  Solar thermal turned out to be a well timed investment.

Aye. Boiler juice is currently quoting 65p in Cambs. I paid a bit under 50p this time last year...

My 69p a litre quote was from NRG.

Yeah they don't do up here.

Me and Euain in terms of stw are practically neighbours so probably use similar suppliers

Watchman still has 3 blobs and we use very little oil during summer so I'm not ordering yet  - unless/when it all kicks off again...

That was Turriff Fuels. We get a penny or two off because we group together in the steading (6 properties) and it was for 6000L (900 for me).

A friend just ordered 500L from them at 72p/L but that was just after people had started lobbing things at more ships in the gulf.

Her boiler's been off since March and the solar thermal hot water is awesome - any sniff of sunshine and the hot water tanks is 50C+. Seems to defy physics.

Yeah 6000l would do it. I will probably only get 1000l in will hold off a bit longer and make sure I have plenty sticks in this winter I think. - 4 cube in seasoning already may put another 2 or 3 cube by to keep the house warm as woods still relatively flat cost wise from my source in the village.

Same same. Everyone told me it was a waste up in Aberdeenshire but my hot waters been entirely provided by it since end of April and mostly provided by it since early march with an immersion boost twice a week. And will do all the hot water till mid/end September with boosts till early/mid October

Certainly took the pressure off when everything kicked off and we had 2 blobs only.

I have 4sqm of panels and it heats 250l from 20c to 50 by lunch most days. Exceptional days it'll hit 78c across the tank. 4sqm of solar PV would not do that. Equivalent electrical energy for the uplift across the tank is equivalent to more than a whole peak production days worth of my entire PV arrau
