Heathrow T5 Meet and Greet Parking

[#13534351]

I'm off on holiday in a couple of months. Travelling solo with my bike so meet and greet seems worthwhile.

I say worthwhile but prices vary wildly.

I've done this before but can't remember who I used. Would have been holiday extras or booking com but can't see any history. Either way, I appreciate these are brokers rather than the actual service providers.

Can anyone recommend someone they've used? It's a modern car so I can prove with the app whether the car has been moving around or parked outside someone house.

How bad can it be if I'm selecting a service that advertises secure, monitored and patrolled parking?

Looking for reviews you tend to only hear the horror stories. Surely if meet and greet is actually within the Heathrow carpark, the airport must have some oversight as to who is licenced to operate there.

Eady answer is official Heathrow parking but it's over £100 more expensive for the week.

Lovely, so you can see in real time it being ragged around a car park or dumped on some dodgy estate.

Very, they lie, PCN because they've dumped it somewhere, notice of intended prosecution as it being caught speeding, not paid ULEZ etc., it's been involved in a serious accident, it's filthy, it's got hundreds of extra miles on, it comes back damaged or worst case it doesn't come back at all.

Absolutely not.

If you value your car (and piece of mind) stump up the extra £100. It's probably a small amount compared to the total cost of your holiday not to mention a fraction of what getting your car replaced is going to cost you.

I drive £500 cars…….and a Berlingo. Id never contemplate using a meet and wheelspin parking service.

That's what I was afraid of. Suddenly with parking, drop off fees both ends, hotel the night before, hotel parking for the night and something to eat, I've just added over £250 to the holiday

I'm local and can see where the cars are parked

Go for a reputable like Purple Parking or you risk a field near me.

MBW now booked.  £120. Hopefully you'll not see my car in a back street near you in April!

I’ve used MBW hundreds of times over the last 11 years, never had an issue.

Hope you had a good holiday @onzadog - how was the car on your return?  I'm off for a 3 week break in a couple of months so am looking for any help / recommendations!

I went MBW and everything was fine. Worth the bit extra I think. So much so, I'm about to use them again.

I used Heathrow 'meet and greet'. Bit of a faff to find the right multi-storey but our car just moved to a space on the same floor in the same building and stayed there until we got back and picked up the keys. Would definitely use again and it was just a short walk from departures/arrivals.

What is the benefits of that meet and greet beyond just parking it yourself in long term multistorey?

  • From what I recall, there was almost nothing in it cost wise and no need to get on a shuttle bus with our luggage. The real value was on the return after a long flight and having your car waiting for you.

We did 15 days from terminal 5 at Easter. To my amazement a taxi from home (50 miles each way) was cheaper than parking

I use Purple Parking quite regularly for work. Used their service at T2, T3 and T5 maybe 30 times over the last few years. They are fine. As are the Heathrow valet services, but maybe more expensive.

You can get a discount on airport parking if you book via one of the money saving websites. It could be Martin Lewis’s one, can’t recall.

Prices fluctuate massively depending on when you fly, just like flights.
