Just wondered if anyone can point me in the direction of where to get a good, hardwearing double bike cover as I leave my bikes outside a lot. I have bought a few (generally cheap from Halfords,Wilko or Ebay) over the years but they seem to rip very easily. What I want is something that will last a good couple of years and obviously keep the bikes dry ! Thanks

Bike covers are a bad idea. They encourage rusting.

My bike cover has been ok for the last 60 years or so. Its a house 😀

And before you say it, yes you do have space

Hi scotroutes, do you think bikes stay in better condition if just left out to face the elements with no protection ?

I have a motor bike cover which has outlasted the motor bikes and is now a garden furniture cover, cost about £60 but is completely water proof and hasn't aged at all after about 10 winters in the garden.

My commuter push bike lives in the front garden, without a cover, and has plenty of rust to show for it, so I can't see how a cover would make it any worse. As it's only a cheapo steel On-one bike, I don't really care and the rust ads to the patine which I'm hoping discourages people from nicking it.
