OK you woody folks
I have my eyes on some fallen timber on the canal towpath lots of it has been taken ( not by me ๐Ÿ™‚ (leaving some larger ( 12 inch and above diameter ) logs that are too heavy to move so I want to cut them into manageable chunks and get them out on the bike trailor

A chainsaw is out of the question so looking for the next best saw
I have a couple of real cheap bow saws but have found them to be next to useless on owt over 6 inches diameter.

Pit saw might be ok but it'll still take a while and children's faces might be injured if you're on public land?

i went out with a girl who lived on the a canal and it would appear it is absolutely fine to use a full size petrol chainsaw on a towpath. if your worried, put on a hi-viz... you can get away anything in a hi-viz
