Getting close to finishing it.
4 coats of Osmo Polyx = a lovely satin finish.
Headstock oiled too, and I've cleaned up and oiled the maple fretboard, and dressed the frets.
Started to fit hardware 😁

Oooh! Black hardware - I like that! 🙂

Looking very nice.

(There's a 'Like' button in this new forum software, isn't there? ...isn't there...? ...oh, silly me :-/ )

That’s flipping lovely.

What a great job you’ve done.

Plugged it in yet?

Yep, had a good thrash on it last night.
Got a nice bit of Tele twang to it with the bridge pu, and sounds lovely and mellow on the neck.

Quite relieved that the scale length and intonation are spot on, needed very little fettling to set it up.

Yep, had another look at it and it’s flipping lovely.

What Amp are you running it through?
Pedals?

etc...

Cheers 🙂
Home built 1 x 12 cab with a DV Mark Micro 50 head.
I run it through a Tech 21 Fly Rig 5 - great piece of kit.

What's in the cab ? I like Greenbacks but with a 50W head you'd need two. I've got a 65W Creamback but it's not as creamy as the Greenbacks. And a 60W Vintage 30 in an Orange cab but that's neither as smooth or as bright as either of the others, even the cheap 75-80s are better for pop-rock.

It's got a Celestion Seventy 80 in it. Did try it with a Vintage 30, but for what I'm playing preferred the 70/80.
The DV Mark Micro 50 gives a really big sound and loads of output for a 50w amp, and as I'm using the Fly Rig 5 for sounds I wanted a speaker that was as tight and transparent as possible.

Great work, looks lovely. Your next build needs to include the neck and while you are at it make it a neck thru just because they look so good.

Typo, I meant 70-80 (seventy 80), an under-rated speaker IMO. To see how much colour my speakers give I connected them to my PA and sang through them. The 70-80 sounds remarkably natural for a guitar speaker.

I've never heard either the DV or Fly Rig. I like modeling amps/pedals for their versatility and ability to perform well at bearable volume but that's a combination I had to Google.

I wanted a travel guitar that plays like a Tele so put this together in a couple of days. It was made to fit in my rucksac with a Vox Mini amp or just a Vox Amplug and JLB. There's no tone control to take the brightness off the Crel 666 pickup and it's got virtually no sustain but it plays remarkably well.
