For all you gamers they have dropped the trailer early. Looks pretty impressive but a long wait.

I mean it’s 10 years since the last one, what’s another 2?

Might have a PS5/6 by then too!

Happy to wait too as you know it’s a safe bet with R*.

Could be good, but my advice would be...

Wait 3 months after release before buying...don't pay top dollar for pre-order or whatever.

After a few months it would have some major patches, and will probably be cheaper.

This is the way.

My advice. Buy it straight away as it’s R* GTA VI the price won’t drop for a very long time and it’ll play well from the start.

And if you don’t play from day one, you’ll be left well behind in the online games.

Holy shit.

but

Coming in 202when?? Bastards.

EDIT some perspective. I first played GTA3 on the PS2 I'd bought with my first decent job in 2001, a few years out of uni. Me and my housemate played it endlessly in that way you do when you're young and free from major responsibilities. When this comes out I'll be 50, and my kids will be nearly old enough to play it.

Having excitedly bought V as a 28year old, I do feel a little bit sad that I’ll be 40 when I excitedly buy this…

Edit Ha, seems mols and I have similar feelings…

Will they ever go back to the top down glory of the early years? GTA on the PS1 was one of my favourite games.

I played from the very first which was threatened with bans because of its graphic violence. That would 1997 I think as I was in my current house then, had the small bedroom setup as my games room. Yeah, that only lasted about 5 years.

Think I got it for Xmas 97, or my (13th) Birthday in 98. Still remember it fondly, and have hardly killed anyone in real life as a result.

It will come out on PC, maybe a year later after all the buggs are ironed out.

I't will be interesting to see what happens, as Cyberpunk, for example got pulled from Sony playstation as the console hardware just wasn't up to running it properly, yet I pirated it on my old pc with a 6600k and rx480, albiet on medium and low graphics settings, it ran fine, and looked really good @60hz/1080p

I played GTA London a ton when I was younger.  It made me knock old men off bikes at trail centres and I've no regrets.

It was pulled by Sony as it was a horrible bug ridden game, they issued refunds and pulled it until it was fixed.

I've only got a PS3, this will tempt me to upgrade. GTA and Gran Turismo are the only two games that kept me coming back for more

Looks ace and my lad will be just about old enough to play it. He's currently pottering around IV on my PS3 (original big one, PS1 + 2 compatible) on the promise he only drives the vehicles and doesn't run anyone over! Shows how long it is since I had time to play console games.

Not got quite the charm of the 1970s 1300 Junior, but you can't argue with the big V6

@molgrips to add further perspective my mate bought V for the 360, then again for the XBone and he now has it for the Series X. My daughter was 6 months old when it launched and now sits and watches me arse about with said mate.

It was also a year and a half before it launched on PC, IIRC that coincided with heists and the proper hard launch of GTA Online.

They may or may not do PC going ahead, their stance on mods isn't great and I don't think PC have been included in latest gen updates to V so far.

The first trailer out two years from release. It’s going to be a long and brutal crunch for those R* employees.

I was hoping for a return to the 80s. Vice City is perhaps my favourite game of all time.

Never had much interest in the online stuff and found GTA IV and V a little dry compared to the older ones, but I guess I'm not their target market any more.

Vice City was awesome but it's had its day, looking forward to seeing what this brings to the party.

I just hope online is a lot more balanced this time around and we don't need to wait however many years for an acid lab as the hard counter to everything!

They're only making what got leaked in the hack official.

Nice to see a realistically proportioned female lead. We don't get many of those.

I liked Vice City too, it's funny how eras of my life line up with GTA releases. Had a lot more time back in the Vice City and San Andreas time.

V I only got around to playing about 3 years ago - absolutely no interest in the online/competitive play stuff, just played the main storyline and some side missions along the way but once it was done, happy to put it down after 50 hours or so. Did the same with RDR2 this year.

At least it gives me a while to start and finish GTA V, had it a year and still not loaded it up yet.

Because:

Had a lot more time back in the Vice City and San Andreas time.

Those two had the best vibe eh? Looks like this new one is set in Florida from the trailer?

Yeah, I have a funny relationship with this. I did the main story line in V but really what I'm interested in is just immersing myself in the world.

Vice City was awesome, spent a long time playing it (although was a lot more open to wasting time back then 😂)

San Andreas was cool too but bought 4 and could never get into it, too up it’s own arse & trying too hard to be “proper” gangster I thought. Never bothered with 5. Might be tempted by 6 though if it’s back in VC!

It was San Andreas' fault that I bought a PS2. That was a disappointment, far too much micromanagement and your whiny cousin who won't leave you alone.

I think Vice City has been my favourite of the series.

Not played one since four, which I found disappointing. Not enough wacky shenanigans and the car physics were crap. Heard five was good but not picked it up yet. Vice City is the one I remember best.

Wasn't there a Zwift-a-like mod for a while?

@cougar that was IV, San Andreas just let you get fat.

Loved both IV and V but especially 5’s story. Of course massively helped by Trevor.

Ah, yeah. TBH I wasn't overly enamoured with either of them.

Looks great, The Youtube view count is mental. I've spent/wasted many hours of my life on the GTA games, from top down on the PS1 (Gouranga!) upto V. Might convince me to get a PS5 nearer the time.

PS also slightly embarassed I'll be 44 when I end up playing it!

Hey Niko, wanna go bowling?
